How Can I Open a Word Document on My IMac?


1. Locate the application icon for Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac. It will be in your 'Applications' folder in your user directory, or loaded into your iMac's dock.
2. Click on the Microsoft Word icon to launch the program. A new, blank Word document will open.
3. Locate the 'File' menu in Word, and pull down to 'Open.' When the 'Open' window appears, search through your folders or desktop to locate the Word document you wish to open on your iMac. Alternatively, you can select 'Command' + 'O' to get to the 'Open' window.
4. Double-click on the file name, and your Word document will open.
5. Save your Word document by locating the 'File' menu once again, and pullling down to 'Save.' When the 'Save' window opens, name your file.
