How to Control Footnote Placement in Word

1. Start Microsoft Word 2007 and open an existing document from your files that contains footnotes that you want to move the place in the document.
2. Select the 'References' tab at the top of the Word 2007 screen so the References ribbon is displayed just below it.
3. Locate the 'Footnotes' section and click the small arrow icon at the bottom right corner to open the Footnote and Endnote dialog box.
4. Choose the 'Footnotes' radio button at the top to indicate that you want to control the footnote instead of the endnote placement.
5. Determine where you want the footnotes in your document placed. Choose one of the selections in the drop-down list immediately to the right of the 'Footnotes' radio button. These choices will be different depending on what pieces you have included in your document.
6. Click the 'Apply' button at the bottom to close the Footnote and Endnote dialog box. Your footnotes will immediately be moved to their new location.
