How to Edit Header Space in Word 2007

1. With a Word document open, select “Insert” on the menu bar. “Header & Footer” is a section under the Insert tab.
2. Click the “Header” button to display the “Header” options. Choose “Edit Header.” The “Header” menu will close automatically and the header box will open at the top of the page.
3. Make any additions or changes to the header text. To make changes, use your mouse to select the text that you would like to change.
4. Rearrange the text in the header box by using the tools in the “Position” section of the “Design” toolbar, which comes up automatically when the header box is open. To change the top margin for the header, use the arrows in the “Header Position From Top” box to increase or decrease the number. Click the “Insert Alignment Tab” button to open the “Alignment Tab” box. Select “Left,” “Center” or “Right” to choose an alignment.
5. Press the “Close Header and Footer” button in the “Design” toolbar to close the header box when you are finished editing the header. The changes that you have made to the header will appear as light text in the header space of the document.
