How to Size the Window in Microsoft Word

Click and Drag
1. Click the 'Restore Down' button if your Word document takes up the entire screen. 'Restore Down' is the small icon in the upper right corner with two overlapping squares. Clicking it enables the resize functions in Word.
2. Move your cursor to the dappled area in the lower right corner of your Word document. Click and hold the mouse key to 'grab' the corner.
3. Move your mouse horizontally to expand or shrink the width of your document, vertically to expand or shrink its height or diagonally to do both. Release the mouse button when the document is at the preferred size.
4. Move the cursor to the top of the window and click and hold the mouse to reposition the window on your screen. You may need to reposition the window to further adjust its size if it can no longer expand because it is hitting the edges of your screen.
View Controls
5. Click 'View' near the top of your window to open the 'View' toolbar.
6. Click 'View Side by Side' to quickly resize and reposition two windows so that they are shown adjacent to one another.
7. Click 'Arrange All' to quickly resize and reposition multiple windows so that all are viewable on your screen.
8. Use click-and-drag resizing to further adjust the size of your windows.
