How to Edit XML Documents With Word

1. Launch 'Microsoft Word' on the computer.
2. Click 'File' and then 'Open.' Click the file-type list at the bottom of the 'Open' list, and select 'XML Files (*.XML)' from the drop-down menu.
3. Browse through the folders on your computer to find the XML file that you want to edit. Double-click the file to open it.
4. Read through the opened document. Word displays the design code in tabs with a purple outline. Avoid editing the design code unless you understand website design because changing this code can render the file inoperable.
5. Edit the text between the design code tabs in the usual way by highlighting, deleting and adding text. Continue to edit the text in the document until you're happy with the content.
6. Click 'Save As' from the 'File' tab, and select 'Word XML Document' from the file-type save list.
