How to Insert a Second


1. Open the Microsoft Word letterhead template that you want to modify.
2. Scroll to the second page of the document and double-click in the header area. "Design" options for headers and footers will open in a new tab in the toolbar at the top of the page.
3. Check the box next to "Different First Page" in the "Options" section. By checking this option, when you insert a header for the second page, the header will not apply to the first page.
4. Click the "Header" button and scroll through the list of headers until you find one that you like.
5. Select the header you want to use and it will appear at the top of the second page. Many any necessary changes to the header and save your document.
