How to Format Text in Microsoft Word 2007


How to Create and Format Text
1. Open Microsoft Word by double-clicking on the icon. A new document opens automatically.
2. Write your text first. Don't be concerned that it doesn't look the way you want it to.

Select the text you want to format by holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling over the text at the same time.
4. New to Microsoft Word is a 'ribbon' which appears across the top of your computer screen. Each of your formatting options are on separate buttons on the ribbon.
5. Choose the buttons for the way you want your text to look - whether it is to make the text bold, bigger, smaller, and so on..
6. That's it. Now your text looks the way you want it to.
How to Copy The Style of Text in One Paragraph to Another Paragrah
7. Click your cursor anywhere inside the paragraph with the style you want to copy.
8. Click on the button that has a paintbrush on it. This will be in the toolbar at the top of the page.
9. Select the text you want to change in the same manner as Step Two, above.
10. At the top of your screen will be the Microsoft 'Ribbon' - a series of buttons. Choose the buttons that show the way you want your text to look.
11. That's it - Your text will look like the text on the buttons you selected.
