How to Convert PPT to a Word Document

'Send To' Feature
1. Open the PPT file with PowerPoint.
2. In the menu, select 'File,' then 'Send To,' then 'Microsoft Word.' This opens a dialog box where you can select the content and format of the items that will be in the Word file you create.
3. Select the appropriate buttons for the options you want and click 'OK'. Word opens and displays the new file. If you selected any of the 'slides' options you will have a table with one column containing representations of the PowerPoint slides.
4. Edit the slide objects as needed in the same way you would for a text box.
Manual Cut and Paste
5. Open the presentation in PowerPoint. Select the contents of a slide with the mouse and press Ctrl-C to copy it.
6. Open Word and create a new document by selecting in the menu 'File,' then 'New.'
7. Press Ctrl-V to paste the copied PowerPoint material into Word.
8. Continue cutting and pasting until all the desired material has been transferred.
9. Adjust the formatting of the pasted material as needed.

10. Locate a program on the web that will perform PowerPoint to Word conversions by entering 'convert ppt doc' in your search engine. There are a number of commercial and shareware choices.
11. Download and install the program you choose.
12. Run the conversion program, following the directions provided.
