How to Recover the Paper Clip in Word

1. Open the Microsoft Word on your computer. A new blank document will appear. However, the paper clip office assistant should still be missing.
2. Locate the 'Help' button at the top of the screen and click it with your mouse. A drop down menu will appear with a list of options.
3. Select 'Show The Office Assistant.' The paper clip icon will appear on the lower right hand side of your Microsoft Word document. Click on the paper clip to access the search bar. Enter your question into the search bar and click 'Search.'
4. Click on the 'Options' button located next to the 'Search' button on the office assistant to change the paper clip icon. A dialog box will open. Click on the 'Gallery' tab to change the paper clip icon to choices that include a wizard, dog, cat, globe, happy face, robot or a puzzle cube.
