How to Change Cell Margins in a Microsoft Word Table

1. Start Microsoft Word. Open a table you have already created, or create a new table using a blank document.
2. Change to Print Layout view by choosing the 'View' menu and selecting 'Print Layout.' If you see that the 'Print Layout' words are highlighted then you are already in Print Layout view.
3. Point to the upper left corner of your table with your cursor until you see a four-headed arrow surrounded by a box. This four-headed arrow is called a table move handle.
4. Click the table move handle to select the table.
5. Choose the 'Table' menu and then 'Table Properties' to bring up the 'Table Properties' dialog box. Click the 'Table' tab if necessary.
6. Click the 'Options...' button at the bottom right-hand side of the 'Table Properties' dialog box to bring up more options.
7. Enter the cell margins you would like to apply under the 'Default cell margins' section and then click the 'OK' button to close the dialog box and apply the new cell margins to your table.
