How to Convert Microsoft Word Document to Microsoft Works
MS Word 2003 and Higher
1. Select 'Save As' under 'File' in the top menu bar (for MS Word 2007, select this command under the Word icon).
2. Type the document name in the 'File name' field. Select '.wps Microsoft Works' in the drop-down menu under 'File type.'If desired, select '.rtf Rich Text Format' or '.txt Text Document' in the drop-down menu under 'File type,' because MS Works can read plain text files (no formatting will be saved in these file formats).
3. Click the 'Save' or 'OK' button.

4. Download and install an MS Works Converter program (see 'Additional Resources,' below) based on your versions of MS Word and/or MS Works.
5. Launch your MS Word application and open your desired document. Select 'Save As' under 'File' in the top menu bar.
6. Type the name of your document if you wish to revise the name. Select '.wks MS Works document' in the drop-down menu under 'File type.' Click the 'Save' or 'OK' button.
7. Launch your MS Works application and select 'Open' under 'File' in the top menu bar. Select 'All readable files' in the drop-down menu in the 'Open' section.
8. Select your desired file in the directory and click the 'Open' button.
