How to Make a DOCX Document Readable in Word


1. Double-click the Word 2007 .DOCX file on your computer. The file automatically loads along with the Word 2007 application.
2. Click the Microsoft Office icon at the top left side of the screen. This opens a new menu. Select 'Save As' from the menu options.
3. Enter a new name for the file. Select '*.doc' from the file type drop down list. Click the 'Save' button once these values are entered. The file is converted and you can open in older versions of Word.
