How to Edit HTML in Word 2007

1. Open Word 2007 on your computer. Make sure it is an authenticated version since trial versions may not have all the necessary tools to run HTML files.
2. Click 'File,' then 'Open,' in the top left menu bar. A box will pop up. Navigate to the folder where you've saved an HTML file and double-click to open it.
3. Wait for the HTML file to open. In most views, you will now see the HTML brackets such as '<a href>' and '</i>' before and after most text. You can edit these as long as they still fit HTML formatting.
4. Click on 'View,' then 'Online view' in the top left menu to see the HTML fully formatted visually. Some images may not show up if they're online links and you're not connected to the internet. If you see any brackets now, they're formatted incorrectly. This is a good way to test your code before putting it onto a website. To return to normal view, click 'View,' and 'Page view,' in the top left menu bar.
5. Click 'File,' then 'Save' to save your HTML file as a Word 2007 .htm file. Name the file whatever you like, then type '.htm' immediately after the file name. Make sure it does not say .doc or any other file ending after the .htm. Click 'Save,' and you now have a Word 2007 HTML editable and publishable file.
