How to Install Mandarin Software to Microsoft Word Document

1. Open the Control Panel. Click the 'Start' menu at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen, and open the Control Panel, which should be on the right-hand side of the Start menu. Click 'Control Panel.'
2. Select 'Clock, Language and Region.' Whether you are using Windows Vista or XP, this option should be on the right-hand side of the control panel.
3. Open 'Regional and Language Options.' The option should be the second main category on the screen from the top.
4. Select 'Change Keywords' and then 'Add.' Change Keywords is an option that immediately pops up after you select Regional and Language Options, and Add is an option that pops up after selecting Change Keywords.
5. Choose the type of Chinese you seek to type with from the list of languages available after clicking 'Add.' Several types of Mandarin are available (e.g., with Simplified or Traditional character). Click 'OK' after choosing the language you want. The language will then install on your computer. On the bottom right-hand corner of your Windows screen, you should be able to see 'Eng' for English or 'Ch' for Chinese. Change the tab from English to Chinese. Whenever you open your Microsoft Word and select 'Ch' from the bottom part of the screen, you will be able to type in Mandarin characters on Microsoft Word.
