How to Add Accents in MS Word 2007
First Method
1. Select the insert tab. This can be found on the top toolbar, and is the second option from the left.
2. Select 'symbols,' which is located all the way to the right of the toolbar that is displayed after you select the insert tab.
3. Look for the accent you wish you use and click on it. If you do not see the symbol at first, select 'more symbols.' Then find the accent you wish to use, click on it, and then click 'insert'
Second Method
4. Hold down the 'control' key on your keyboard.
5. Type the accent that you want to appear above the letter as you hold down the 'control' key.
6. Release the control key and type the letter in which you want the accent to appear over. For example, if you want to type caña, simply type 'c' then 'a' then hit control plus the symbol, release, and type 'n.' In other words, you select and release the key combination before typing the letter to be accented.
Third Method
7. Open up the symbols menu as in step 1.
8. Select the accent you wish to use.
9. Click on 'shortcut key.'
10. Select a key on your keyboard that you wish to assign the accent to. For example if you assign F12 then every time you press F12, the accent you selected will appear. This method is most helpful if you will be using the same accent frequently.
