How to Make Birthday Cards With Microsoft Office

1. Open Microsoft Publisher from 'Program Files,' 'Microsoft Office,' and then 'Microsoft Publisher.' The left side of the application consists of the templates that Publisher has to offer. Under 'Popular Publication Types,' in the middle of the screen, is a quick launch tab for 'Greeting Cards.' Double-click on that option.
2. Click on 'Birthday' at the top of the page under the 'Greeting Cards' title. Preview the birthday card by clicking once. In the top right corner, the preview will display.
3. Change the options below the preview screen. Click on the arrow under the 'Color Scheme' selection. This will change the main colors of the birthday card. When you select this option, the colors will change on the card in the preview screen. Modify the 'Font Scheme' as well by clicking on the arrow.
4. Alter your options. Select the 'Page Size;' this is the folding aspect of the birthday card. You can decide on quarter top, quarter side or half-page folding. Changing the layout will modify all of the cards. Click the 'Create' tab to do this. Do not adjust this option if you are satisfied with your current layout.
5. Customize the page size on the left side. Click 'Change Paper Size.' Then, select a template size or 'Page' and 'Margins' on the right side of the page. Click 'Ok' to save the changes.
6. Click on the image on the birthday card. A box will outline the specific picture. On the toolbar, select 'Insert,' 'Picture,' then 'Clip Art' or 'From File.' Add a personalized image such as the birthday guest-of-honor or a landscape.
7. Press the text on the card. A box will outline this as well. Type in the wording and change the font, color and size from the quick launch above the birthday card template.
8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 on the insert of the card. Click the numbers on the bottom of the page to jump to the inside or back of the birthday card.
9. Save and print the birthday card in Microsoft Office Publisher. Click the disk icon to save your work. Select the printer icon for printing. Fold the card according to the page size in Step 4.
