How to Create Mailing Labels From Windows Contacts With Vista

1. Click the "Start" button and click your Windows user name at the top of the right column. Double click the "Contacts" folder.
2. Click the "Export" button at the top of the screen.
3. Click "CSV (Comma Separated Values)" and click "Export." A new dialog box will open.
4. Click the "Browse" button. Click the "Browse Folders" arrow to browse to your desktop. Name the file "Contacts," and click "Save." Click "Next."
5. Remove the checks from each box except "Name," "Home Street," "Home City," "Home Postal Code" and "Home State," unless you are creating a business mailing list. In this case, check the boxes beginning with "Business" rather than "Home." Click "Finish," then click "OK."
6. Close all open windows and launch Microsoft Word 2007.
7. Click the "Mailings" tab at the top of the window. Click the "Start Mail Merge" button, then click "Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard."
8. Click the "Labels" radio button, then click "Next."
9. Click the "Label Options" link. Select the manufacturer and product number of the mailing labels that you are using. If you do not know or are simply testing your computer's ability to print mailing labels from your Windows contacts, select "Avery US Letter" and "5160." Click "OK" and then click "Next."
10. Click the "Browse" link. Navigate to your desktop and double click "Contacts.csv." Click "OK."
11. Place a check in the box next to each name for which you want to print a label. Click "OK" then click "Next."
12. Click "Address Block," then click the "Match Fields" button in the window that appears. Use the drop-down menu next to each address item to match it with its equivalent in the CSV file. For example, "Address 1" should be matched with "Home_Street." Click "OK." You will be shown a preview of what your finished labels will look like. If the preview looks correct, click "OK" again.
13. Click the "Update all labels" button, then click "Next." You will be shown a preview of what the finished labels will look like when printed on a label sheet. Click "Next," then click "Print" to print your completed mailing labels.
